USA - Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. (BRP) announced the launch of its new television series “Ultimate Playground.” The eight-part series, which premieres on OLN, Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at 8:30 p.m. ET, takes viewers on an adrenaline-rushed look at the world's most adventurous activities in power sports recreation.
The show's host is outdoor enthusiast Laird McIntosh, who provides a first-hand view of each high-energy adventure.
Rugged and exotic locations set the backdrop for each dynamic expedition to create the “Ultimate Playground.” Viewers will be captivated by unexpected adventures, such as fly-fishing off ATVs in Mexico, summertime snowmobile asphalt drags in Kentucky, surfing in Hawaii, waterskiing on the Arctic Ocean, deep-sea fishing on the Sea of Cortez, ATV riding in Iceland, snowmobile racing in Alaska, training with Navy Seals off the coast of Maryland and a recreational vehicle “triathlon” featuring 2005 World Snowmobile Association Pro Open points champion Steve Martin and pro Ski-Doo racer Blair Morgan, who will provide analysis.
As an added bonus, BRP has created the "Ultimate Playground Watch and Win Sweepstakes" to provide viewers with a chance to win a trailer full of BRP's “Ultimate Toys,” including a Ski-Doo snowmobile, a Sea Doo watercraft, a Bombardier ATV and an Evinrude E-TEC Outboard Engine. All sweepstakes entries must be received by June 3, 2005.
“Our goal was to create extraordinary activities and perform them in the world's most challenging and beautiful locations to create the ultimate outdoor experience,” said Pierre Arsenault, vice-president and general manager, Snowmobiles, PWC, ATV & Sport Boats, BRP. “These guys are out there playing in the most extreme situations. It's anything but your average sports show.”
In each episode, McIntosh and his friends are outfitted with BRP's recreational products to take on the most extreme outdoor activities.
“Each adventure truly puts our products to the test,” said Roch Lambert, vice-president and general manager, Outboard Engines. “By taking on ultimate conditions on both land and water, we've given viewers a unique look at the power of machine versus the elements.”
